"PLANETFALL is scrappy, crazy, and always
big fun. Highly recommended to anyone interested in something outside the Hollywood norm." —DVD Talk
"Simply atrocious." —IMDb User Comment
"The only
powerful characters are women, which is OK with me, but
only one of them is worth checking out." —Evil Dread
DVD Production Notes:
As you can see, people either loved it or hated it. Drenner and Greene produced one featurette for this DVD, entitled CORPSE GRINDING: AN INTERVIEW WITH TED V. MIKELS. This studio tour of Ted’s headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada was made on-the-fly following Beverly Washburn’s interview for THE HATCHING OF SPIDER BABY in October of 2006. Drenner speaks fondly of Mikels: “I love Ted. His spirit and passion for moviemaking are infectious. It was a blast working with him on PLANETFALL. His studio is where we shot the bulk of our scenes together.”
Useless Movie Trivia!
The name of Arch Stanton (played by Mikels) comes from the name on the gravestone where Eli Wallach discovers the buried gold in THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY. The date of death marked on the tombstone also happens to be Drenner’s birthday.
